Due next block day (2/29 or 3/1) at the beginning of class.
40 points Formative Assessment
For the next two days you will be researching an element.  The information that will be required for the project is found below.  You can choose how you want to display the information from the format options below.
Required Information:
ü  Element Name, Symbol, Atomic Number and Average Atomic Mass
  ü  Common isotopes
ü  The number of protons, neutrons and electrons in each of the common isotopes
ü  Which Group is your element in and what properties does your element have that are characteristic of that group? (At least 3)
ü  Where in nature is your element found and in what form?
ü  What are some common uses for your element?
Format Choices:
  Ø  Poem or song
  Ø  Cereal Box
Ø  Diary/journal entry from a day in the life of your element.
  Ø  Recipe
  Ø  Super Hero
  Ø  T-Shirt
Grading:
v  Each of the categories in the required information section are worth 6 points each.  The information must be present, accurate and clearly labeled.
v  The other 4 points is for use of class time and quality of your project.  All text needs to be handwritten.  All sketches need to be color unless black and white is for effect.  You will have two days in the computer lab to research, if you choose not to work you can lose points in this category.
